On Friday, September 11, we commemorated
the 25
th
anniversary of the launch of the
modern Superb model, which, since its debut
at the Frankfurt Motor Show, has become
a symbol of comfort, generous interior space
and advanced technology. The Superb name dates
back to 1934, when the modernised Škoda 640
was given this nickname and was produced in
several body styles until 1949.
In 2001, a new generation was introduced, laying
the key foundations that still dene the model
today – comfort, space, practicality and elegant
design. The second generation, launched in
2008, featured the innovative TwinDoor rear-
opening system in the liftback version. The range
later expanded to include the popular Combi
estate body style and all-wheel-drive variants.
The third generation, unveiled in 2015,
represented a major technological leap forward,
introducing advanced connectivity, a broad range
of driver-assistance systems. The current fourth
generation, introduced in 2023, raises the bar
for comfort, safety, and digitalization, and oers
the widest range of powertrains to date, including
two plug-in hybrid versions. Since its market
launch in 2001, nearly 1.8 million vehicles have
been delivered to customers worldwide.
