Klaus Zellmer, ŠKODA CEO, continues his
deep-dive-tour through the carmaker's state-
of-the-art production sites. In recent weeks,
he already visited dozens of departments
in three Czech plants, while getting in
touch with hundreds of employees in Mladá
Boleslav, Vrchlabí and Kvasiny. During his tour,
Klaus Zellmer together with Jaroslav Povšík,
Chairman of the KOVO Trade Union and Vice-
Chairman of the ŠKODA AUTO Supervisory
Board, met with KOVO Trade Union
representatives in each production plant.
The new ŠKODA Connect service Pay to Park now makes parking easier in several European countries: ŠKODA customers
can use the MyŠKODA App or their car’s infotainment system to display parking options, view the fees and pay
conveniently. After a pilot phase in Switzerland, the service is now also available in Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland,
Germany and Norway. ŠKODA is continuing to expand the service, with eight more countries coming soon.

ŠKODA LAUNCHES NEW PAY TO PARK SERVICE
The ENYAQ COUPÉ RS iV has won the prestigious Golden
Steering Wheel 2022. The all-electric coupé replicated last
year’s victory of the ENYAQ iV, netting ŠKODA its 8th win overall
of one of the most coveted European car awards. After readers
of German car magazine “Auto Bild” and the “Bild am Sonntag”
newspaper voted the ENYAQ COUPÉ RS iV into the round of
three nalists for the mid-size SUV category, the coupé wowed
a panel of experts during test drives on the Lausitzring. Klaus
Zellmer, ŠKODA AUTO CEO, accepted the award at the gala in
Berlin on Wednesday evening.
Ensuring the maximum possible safety of its vehicles is a long-
standing tradition and priority for ŠKODA AUTO. ŠKODA 100 L
was the rst documented vehicle to undergo crash testing 50 years
ago in Prague-Ruzyně.
Today, ŠKODA operates a state-of-the-art crash test facility at its
Úhelnice-based Polygon Test Centre, which was comprehensively
expanded in 2020 and even won the Crash Laboratory of the
Year 2020 from the Automotive Testing Technology International
trade journal. The results from the Euro NCAP reference test and
the Global NCAP test for crash safety attest to the Czech car
manufacturer’s impressive track record; all 15 new ŠKODA models
introduced since 2008 have achieved the highest ve-star rating.
In 2021, the current FABIA and ENYAQ iV were named the safest
vehicles in their respective classes.

in Mladá Boleslav. The recent
breakfast with Oliver Blume,
Volkswagen Group CEO,
during his visit of ŠKODA
AUTO, was met with a great
response from all partici-
pants. Klaus Zellmer, ŠKODA
AUTO CEO, suggested
that this informal personal
meeting format continues
under the name “Early Bird
Breakfast”. In his view, these
meetings are the perfect
way for exchanging infor-
mation, strengthening mu-
tual cooperation among
people and departments.
Colleagues from India and
Russia, who joined online,
also appreciated the informal
atmosphere of the meeting,
even though they were una-
ble to attend in person.

OF BATTERIES
Sustainable production and use of cars throughout
their entire life cycle – this is the current aspiration of
all manufacturers. ŠKODA is serious about sustaina-
bility and is taking a number of smart and innova-
tive steps to reduce its carbon footprint. One inter-
esting solution that the Czech carmaker has come up
with is a way to use old batteries that have already
served their time in electric cars and plug-in hybrids.
It would be a great pity to simply throw them away.
They can be used, for example, by ŠKODA dealers
as part of the charging stations at their show-
rooms or to power lighting and air conditioning
in sales and service centres. These batteries are
not only from the all-electric ENYAQ iV, but also
from the plug-in hybrids OCTAVIA iV, OCTAVIA RS
iV and SUPERB iV.

Andreas Mikkelsen and
Torstein Eriksen, nished the
German Lausitz-Rallye with
a convincing victory. Heavy
rains in the days before the
start caused lots of standing
water and made the stages
extremely soft, resulting in
deep ruts during the event.
But especially the customer
teams of ŠKODA Motorsport
stood up to the challenge.
Additionally to the overall
victory by the all-new ŠKODA
FABIA RS Rally2, four

inside the top 10.

This can adjust the sound according to how full your car
is. You can choose between sound for the whole interior,
for the driver only, or for the front or rear seats. And how
loud it be? That is a purely personal matter: some people

loud. But safety must be paramount. When you’re behind
the wheel, you have to be able to hear what’s around you:
other cars beeping to warn you of something, ambulance
sirens and so on.

the Extraordinary Stories (Neobyčejné příběhy)
series will begin at 17:30. This time, you can hear
the story of the rebirth of the unique racing gem
ŠKODA 1100 OHC COUPÉ. This unique car has
risen from the dust and today is a fully functional
exhibit demonstrating the technical prowess of
our ancestors. Michal Velebný from the ŠKODA
Museum's restoration workshop will describe the
car's origins, sporting career, fate and challenging
restoration.
