    Representation of
    Women in Škoda Auto
    To support and strengthen women at Škoda
    Auto, a Women Network employee group
    is being established to contribute to the
    goal of % representation of women in
    management.
    The position of women in the labour
    market doesn´t correspond to the fact,
    that they are signicantly more prevalent
    among university graduates. Škoda Auto is
    trying to help change this situation, setting
    a goal of achieving a quarter of women in
    management positions by .
    The Women Network Employee Group
    will be ocially launched on  March, the
    day of International Women‘s Day. However,
    everyone is welcome to join the group –
    women and men, regardless of age, job,
    religion, sexual orientation, etc.

    At the beginning of February, the MMI online
    conference was held, where the Škoda Auto Board of
    Directors evaluated the current situation and presented
    the management‘s plans for this year.
    The MMI conference was joined by  ŠA
    management members from a total of  countries.
    Solid deliveries, growth in sales of the Enyaq iV range
    and laying the foundations for the future with a new
    identity and design language. This is how Chairman of
    the Board of Management Klaus Zellmer summed
    up the year . He stressed that it was a very
    challenging period against the backdrop of ination
    and supply chain diculties. This year he mentioned
    targeting promising markets in terms of protability
    and new car models.
    Topics discussed at the online conference included
    Russia, India, the shortage of semiconductors and
    other parts, People Empowerment and the Euro 
    emissions standard.

    Ninth Škoda Student Car
    To The National Theatre
    in March with a Discount
    As part of its long-standing sponsorship cooperation,
    The National Theatre has provided all Škoda Auto

    The traditional student car project is back: this year is the ninth time that students
    in Mladá Boleslav design and build their dream car. The production of these unique
    cars proves the high level of education at the Škoda Auto Secondary Vocational
    School. Since the beginning of the school year,  students of the Škoda Academy
    have been working on the student car – from the initial stage to the nished unique
    car. Details of the ninth student car will be released in the coming months.

    Not only Škoda Auto, but also the European
    energy industry is heading towards
    sustainability. See how electricity
    is generated from renewable sources
    that can power, for example, electric cars.
    Sustainable power generation will help
    reduce the negative impact of human activity
    on the environment and is therefore a clear
    path for the future.
    „Nature is the most important
    thing we have,“
    says Petr Pavlík from the University of
    Mining and Metallurgy – Technical University
    of Ostrava (VŠB-TUO).
    According to Pavlík, there are three main
    ways of producing energy from renewable
    sources. These are wind, hydro and
    photovoltaic power plants.
    Wind power plants work by wind-driven
    rotors of wind turbines turning generators
    that produce electricity. It makes the most
    sense to build wind farms in areas where the
    wind is consistent and stable, such as the
    Baltic Sea.
    Hydroelectric power is produced by
    generators connected to turbines through
    which a mass of water ows. Norway
    is the European champion in the use of
    hydropower.
    According to Pavlík, photovoltaics currently
    have the biggest future in renewable energy:
    “In the long term, it is the fastest
    growing renewable energy source
    in Europe“.

    Electricity from
    Renewable Sources
    Tips for Correct Parking
    Is smooth parking in the right place one of
    your nightmares? It‘s much easier than you
    can imagine.
    Modern cars oer a range of parking assistants
    that can park in a free parking space for you –
    longitudinally, laterally, in front or behind.
    They can also drive out automatically.
    Most of today‘s cars are equipped with parking
    sensors or a camera, which makes parking
    easier for drivers. However, the driver must
    carry out the manoeuvre himself.
    “After all, there are still plenty of cars that are
    not equipped with any aids. That‘s why
    I recommend everyone to practice the way of
    parking that they don‘t normally use or are not
    sure about,“ says Aleš Horčička, Chairman of
    the Association of Driving Schools of the Czech
    Republic.

    a few simple rules.

    The Future with Electromobility
    “Magic Eye”
    Quickly Identies
    Maintenance Needs
    on the Assembly Line
    Škoda Auto is introducing a camera
    system based on image recognition
    based on articial intelligence to
    enable early detection of maintenance
    needs on the production line.
    This system continuously monitors
    the equipment and identies any
    irregularities in the operational
    processes. It immediately recognises
    the need for possible maintenance
    intervention. This makes Škoda
    Auto one of the rst companies in
    the Czech Republic to use predictive
    maintenance capabilities supported by
    articial intelligence.
    The camera sends images of the
    equipment and wear parts, i.e. beams
    or screws, from the production line to
    the computer. The AI-based system
    detects any irregularities in the
    processes or detects and reports on
    maintenance requirements.

    Škoda Auto is planning new
    production concepts to ensure
    the production of electric vehicles
    in the future. An important objective
    of action elds F (Factory of
    the Future) and F (Capacities and
    Products) is the transformation
    of capacities that will enable the
    transition of production from
    combustion to new electric models
    with the help of digitalisation. Given
    the number of digital solutions and
    systems in use at Škoda Auto, an
    expert group was formed last year to
    organise various workshops. Topics
    such as visualisation, data analytics or
    shopoor IT systems were discussed.

    „Our main task is to prepare everything for
    the advent of electromobility, and therefore
    for the rapid transformation of capacities for
    the production of electric vehicles,“ says Michal
    Kobzák, guarantor of the F eld of action
    and project manager of the PPS- – Production
    and Investment Concept Management unit.
