On Saturday 8/10/2022 the Chateau Park
in Kosmonosy will be lit up mysteriously and
a bit fairy-tale-like. The Maják (Lighthouse)
Light Festival will be held in the Kosmonosy
Castle Park for the second time and the event
will be free for all spectators. You can look
forward to elaborate video mapping, magical
light installations, a re show and the castle
park lit up like you’ve never seen it before.

Cup and Bicycle
for Life cycling races
Dear colleagues,

As the autumn season is coming,
accompanied by cold and wet
weather, the risk of transmission of
respiratory diseases such as colds,
u and/or COVID-19 increases. It is
therefore prudent to protect yourself
and strengthen your immune system.
Please follow all basic hygiene
rules and recommendations and
consider getting vaccinated.
Vaccination is seen as an ecient tool
that prevents the disease itself or at
least suppresses its symptoms.
The ŠKODA AUTO Polyclinic
now oers a modied COVID-19
vaccine. Comirnaty Original /
Omicron BA.1 by Pzer / BioNTech
is eective against the DELTA
variant while also being more
eective against the BA.1 (Omicron)
subvariant.
Eective as of Monday 3/10/2022,
all business trip restrictions
have been lifted. Even employees
that are not vaccinated against
COVID-19 can make business trips
now. However, we still recommend
that all employees get vaccinated,
as vaccination is seen as the most
eective way of prevention.
The Prima Cup is a series of 12 races that
run regularly from April to October across
the Czech Republic. This time we went with
WeLoveCycling.cz to Mikulov, where we not
only prepared a fun program for children, but
also actively participated in the race together
with our inuencers. The jerseys of the cycling
platform WeLoveCycling.cz featured six-time
Paralympic cycling champion Jiří Ježek,
singer Petr Lexa, model Andrea Bezděková,
cyclist Evelina Opičková and Michal
Kamermeier, known as Majk na cestách.
The Bicycle for Life series concluded,
as usual, with the Ralsko MTB Tour
ŠKODA AUTO race on the rst Saturday in
October, where we also participated in the
accompanying programme.

The Roadshow has already visited Mladá
Boleslav, you could also see it in Česana
or Vrchlabí. The nal part of the almost
month-long roadshow took place from
3 to 6/10/2022 in Kvasiny. In the video

“I’d like to share with you my story of helping
Ukraine. For four years, I’ve been working in
the town of Mladá Boleslav as the Chair of the
Ethnic and National Minority Integration Com-
mittee. Around the third day after the war had
started, people eeing Ukraine, some of whom
I knew, started calling me asking for help with
housing, food, clothing, hygiene products and
other necessities. In short, everything you need
to live. I made contact with people in various
communities I’ve worked with over the years,
and I also reached out in Facebook groups.
The oer from ŠKODA AUTO and the KOVO
Trade Union to give me some time o made it
easier for me to get involved. This is how my
full-time job of helping people aected by the
war in Ukraine began. We mainly assisted with
housing and basic needs for families.
Another challenge came at the end of March.
This involved teaching Ukrainian children the
basics of the Czech language through cours-
es developed at Koliba in partnership with
ŠKODA AUTO and then at other schools and
institutions. When I rst saw the little children
who didn’t understand our language at all, and
I didn’t understand theirs, I thought this was
going to be an impossible task. But it’s not in
my nature to give up, especially on something
this important. In just a few months, through
their great eorts, we’ve taught approximately
800 children to read, write, and communicate
in Czech. Thanks to this project children and
adult citizens of Ukraine have been able to
learn our language and thus integrate into life in
the Czech Republic.
It was a very challenging time, but nothing
can replace the feeling that we really helped
at least a few people to build a new beginning.
The biggest reward for me personally was
the smiles of happy children.”
