    WEEKLY
    FOR ŠKODA AUTO EMPLOYEES
    The event will take place
    on 21 May 2022 in
    the Krkonoše Mountains
    and on 22 May 2022
    in the Orlické Mountains.
    Automobilka has been
    a partner of this event
    since 2015.
    ŠKODA AUTO has started manufacturing battery
    systems for all-electric vehicles based on the
    Volkswagen Group’s Modular Electrication
    Toolkit (MEB) in Mladá Boleslav. This makes the car
    manufacturer’s main plant the only production facility
    for MEB battery systems in Europe outside Germany.
    Around 250 employees will soon be assembling
    more than 250,000 MEB battery systems a year on
    the newly constructed production line. In addition to
    ŠKODA vehicles, these will also be installed in MEB
    models made by Volkswagen, Audi and SEAT.
    Around 130 million euros were invested in
    the new production line. The carmaker
    thus reached another strategic milestone
    in transforming the Czech Republic from an
    automotive location into an electromobility hub.
    ŠKODA AUTO wants to produce E-components
    or E-vehicles at all three Czech plants by 2030.

    from Ukraine soon after the conict
    broke out. Some people from Dolní
    Dvůr volunteer re department, where
    my husband Martin also volunteers,
    brought them to the Czech Republic
    from the Slovak-Ukrainian border.
    So I logically went through the whole
    experience with my husband from
    the very beginning. I prepared
    the things for the journey, quits,
    pillows and food. After the refugees
    arrived, my husband, our friends
    and I continued helping them. We
    gathered some clothes for them,
    helped them go through the necessary
    administrative procedures and showed
    them around. After it was no longer
    possible for them to stay in the local
    boarding house, we started to look for
    another accommodation.
    We came across and old house in Dolní
    Dvůr where its owner does not live. He
    agreed to accommodate the refugees
    there, saying that he has not enough re
    -
    sources for renovation and furnishings.
    The house had clearly been uninhabited
    for some time. So we had to renovate
    the walls, paint them, get the furnish
    -
    ings (furniture, carpets, fridge, washing
    machine, bedding, dishes ... all you need
    for normal life), clean the whole house
    and bring the refugees.
    There was a moment when I was
    losing hope, thinking that this is simply
    too hard to manage both physically
    and nancially. But I immediately
    discovered how wonderful the
    people around me are. My great HR
    colleagues from Vrchlabí and Mladá
    Boleslav with their families, my
    colleagues from the Vrchlabí plant
    – all of them did their best to help,
    providing nancial, material as well as
    physical assistance. Therefore, I would
    like to say a big thank you to all of you
    – for help would never be possible
    without you.
    And since the end of April, the little
    house has become home to the new
    inhabitants. The refugees were even
    able to celebrate Easter there, which,
    according to the Orthodox Calendar,
    falls on 24 April this year.

    IN SOSNOVÁ
    Last weekend at the Autodrom in Sosnová belonged
    to classic racing cars. On Saturday, 14 May 2022,
    the traditional Sosnová Classic 2022 event took
    place here. Fans of fast wheels could come classic
    racing cars for free, including many historical ŠKODA
    cars. One of the biggest attractions was the launch
    of the unique ŠKODA 1100 OHC Coupé (1959),
    which set out on its rst public racing exhibition for the

    The ŠKODA SLAVIA is the younger sibling of the ŠKODA KUSHAQ SUV. Both
    cars were developed specically for the Indian market and are tailor-made for
    the local customers’ requirements. While the KUSHAQ embodies the spirit of
    adventure, the SLAVIA combines graceful elegance with dynamism. According to
    Chief Designer Oliver Stefani, this is mainly due to the SLAVIA’s dynamic lines,
    which are reminiscent of coupé cars.
