The new agship model, the seven-seat Škoda Peaq electric car, has been thoroughly
tested in the Arizona desert and in freezing environments 200 kilometres north of the
Arctic Circle. During development, our specialists focused on various situations, paying
attention to even the smallest details. In conditions well within the Arctic Circle, at
temperatures below −30 °C, tests included rapid window defrosting and ecient interior
heating. Attention was also paid to vehicle behaviour on snow and ice, with the aim of
achieving optimal grip, stability and reliable operation of the safety systems.
In arid desert environments, Škoda Peaq test vehicles were exposed to intense sunlight for
12 months to assess paint quality and the durability of plastic components. Driving tests
in extreme heat also placed heavy demands on the brakes, chassis and cooling systems.
On dusty and gravel roads, over which the Škoda Peaq covered thousands of kilometres,
engineers validated the interior sealing and the resistance of metal and plastic body
components to ying stones. Even in extreme desert heat, the air conditioning system was
able to cool the cabin quickly.
Prototypes
covered more than
. million kilometres

of climate zones and
conditions on three
continents.
The Peak of Quality

The Peaq interior denes a new standard with
regards to space, usability and chosen materials.
The dashboard features a vertically oriented
infotainment display for the rst time. New physical
control elements enable intuitive interaction with
climate controls, volume settings, and other functions.
Ergonomically adjustable armrests support the use of
the display while integrated magnetic wireless docks
ensure ecient smartphone charging. The ‘Lodge
concept combines soft textile-based surfaces with
robust tactile elements, creating a rened contrast.

If you love classical music, don’t miss
this year’s 68
th
edition of the Smetana’s
Litomyšl Festival, which runs from June
12 to July 5. Its program features opera
productions, concert performances of
operas, as well as gala concerts, oratorios,
cantatas, and song recitals. Other genres,
including dance, are also well represented.
You can view the program here.
And what exactly connects car
manufacturers to classical music? The
support and development of culture is one
of the long-term parts of our company‘s
social responsibility. That's why it has been
supporting the national festival for 30 years
now and is extending its partnership
through 2028. A key aspect of the
partnership is providing a eet of vehicles
to transport artists, guests, and visitors.
This year, we will provide
the organizers with 12 vehicles,
plus 4 additional cars for the
organizers to use throughout the
year. This long-term partnership
has signicant broader implications
thanks to the sharing of common
values rooted in a long tradition
and the promotion of Czech
cultural heritage.

Did you know, for
example, that the
opening notes of
the symphonic
poem “Vltava” (from
Bedřich Smetana’s
“My Country
cycle) served as the
