To Innity and Beyond
Icelandic farmer Jómundur Ólason drove his rst-generation Škoda Octavia
an incredible ,, kilometers, with the car retaining its original engine,
transmission and clutch. According to him, the key to longevity was regular
maintenance, a gentle driving style and high-quality servicing, despite the demanding
Icelandic conditions and daily work use. The Octavia served him since , and after
reaching its record mileage, it became a teaching vehicle at a secondary school in
Reykjavík. Jómundur remained loyal to the brand and now drives a new Octavia, while
the old one has become a symbol of reliability and durability.
Elroq x:
Performance Meets Style
The Elroq model range is expanding with the addition
of the x all-wheel drive version, available in
Selection and Sportline trim levels. The new model
oers a combination of high performance, a long
range of up to km, and fast charging, making it
an attractive choice for demanding drivers.
The equipment includes advanced driver assistance
systems, comfort features and sporty details, with
the Sportline variant adding a striking design and
lowered chassis. Both versions are now available from
authorized dealers, who are accepting orders.
A Tank For Breakfast
Norwegian racer John Haugland arrived
in Czechoslovakia in August to
apply for a position as a factory driver for
Škoda – but instead of a peaceful start,
he was met with the shock of the Soviet
invasion. After encountering a tank at
a crossing, he had to hide in a hotel for
three days before managing to escape
via country roads to West Germany.
Nevertheless, he decided to continue his
career with Škoda, for which he later won
over a hundred victories and became
a rally legend. Today, he regularly returns
to the free country as a respected veteran
and living memory of motorsport history.
When Less Is More
On September, the wheels will once again start turning in the Škoda
Economy Run, where it's not speed that counts, but eciency. As usual,
the start and nish will be at the Škoda Service Center in Kosmonosy, and
the route is km long. Crews with Škoda cars from onwards who are
up for the challenge of economical driving can take part.

Innovation In Motion
The second annual AGV Open Day
will take place on September in Hall V and will
oer presentations and live demonstrations of
the latest technologies in the eld of automated
forklift control.
Suppliers will present their innovations in the form
of thematic blocks, for which prior reservation
is required. The morning will be devoted to
company presentations, while the afternoon
will feature practical demonstrations of AGV
technology in operation.

Škoda Mobil, the employee newspaper of the Mladá Boleslav-based carmaker, includes special supplements that focus on especially important topics from Škoda's perspective.
