What is currently rising above
the heating plant?
If you look towards the ŠKO-ENERGO heating plant, you
may notice several newly constructed structures. During
the summer, the rst two sections of the conveyor bridges
were erected – it is a crucial part of the entire heating
plant's transformation. This is because the new fuel route
will run right through here. As early as 2027, brown coal
will be replaced by biomass, specically a combination
of wood chips and phyto-pellets. To transport this fuel
from the unloading area to the boilers, a completely
new transport and storage system is being built. Even
during this extensive modernization, the heating plant
continuously supplies heat and electricity to the Škoda
Auto production plants and ensures the heating comfort
of thousands of households in Mladá Boleslav. The
ongoing modernization of the heating plant at the Mladá
Boleslav site is one of the largest decarbonization projects
of its kind in the Czech Republic. Upon its completion
in 2027, the share of renewable and sustainable energy
sources will increase, reducing the purchase of carbon
dioxide emission allowances by 274,000 tonnes per year.
Together, we have already donated
CZK 100 million as part of
the Employee Collections
This year, the Employee Collections project reached
a signicant milestone. Together with the company,
employees have already donated a total of CZK
100 million to non-prot organizations. Behind this
amount is tangible support for families, children, the
sick, people with disabilities, as well as environmental
protection. It is also proof that even a small contribution
can make a huge impact. The Employee Collections have
been running since 2014, and employees themselves
nominate non-prot organizations, select the nalists, and
decide whom they want to support. The company doubles
