After more than ten years
of preparations, the work of
hundreds of experts, and the
support of thousands of donors,
the new organ has sounded
in the Cathedral of St. Vitus,
Wenceslaus and Adalbert.
This unique instrument, which
symbolically completes the more
than 700-year history of the
most important Czech sacred
building, was also created thanks
to the support of Škoda Auto. We
became the general partner of the
project, and in addition to nancial
support, we also contributed our
own know-how to the creation
of the organ. Indeed, a distinctive
feature of the new organ is its
crystal components, which were
designed by colleagues from
Škoda Design.
Peter Olah found inspiration with
his team in Bohemian crystal and
the Panská skála rock formation
near Kamenický Šenov, which
resembles an organ. When
trickling water freezes on it in
winter, the ice creates decorations
very similar to crystal. Today,
these crystal elements form
an integral part of the instrument,
giving it a unique character.
Chris Froome is a living legend of elite
road cycling. In 2018, he became the
rst cyclist in over thirty years to win
all three prestigious Grand Tour races
consecutively within 12 months – the
Tour de France, La Vuelta, and the Giro
d’Italia. As one of only six riders in history,
he has won the Tour de France four
times, while also nishing on the podium
twice more. He won two Olympic bronze
medals in the time trials at the London
and Rio Games in 2012 and 2016. He has
also triumphed in other famous cycling
races, such as La Vuelta in 2011 and
2017, and the Giro d’Italia in 2018.
