Škoda Epiq is already rolling o the production lines
Series production of Škoda’s new all-electric entry model, the Epiq, has begun at
the Volkswagen Navarra plant in Pamplona, Spain. As part of the Electric Urban Car Family
from the Volkswagen Brand Group Core (BGC), this marks an important step in strengthening
synergies within the BGC: all four models from CUPRA, Volkswagen and Škoda will be
produced at plants in Spain. After the current-generation Superb, the new Epiq is the second
model in Škoda’s present European portfolio to be built outside Škoda Auto’s Czech plants,
and the rst Škoda model ever to be produced in Spain.
▶ Take a look at how Škoda Auto experts succeeded in achieving
exceptionally low aerodynamic drag on Škoda Storyboard.
Aerodynamics have a major impact on energy consumption and, threfore, on the driving range. For the all-electric Škoda Peaq SUV, this discipline
represented a signicant challenge. It may sound somewhat unbelievable, but the aerodynamic drag of Škoda’s currently largest model is roughly equivalent
to that of a at square panel measuring approximately 72 × 72 centimetres. The lowest achieved drag coecient is 0.249, an outstanding result for a seven-
seat SUV.
Racing the Wind
This allows Škoda Auto to retain its own
production capacity for other high-demand
models. As a strategic cornerstone, the Epiq
brings electric mobility to the dynamic entry-
level segment and gives customers even greater
freedom of choice.
It is the brand’s rst car built on the new MEB+
platform and its rst model to fully embody
the Modern Solid
design language.
Alongside the
Peaq, the Epiq
will play a key role
in doubling the
brand’s electric
portfolio this year.
To enable the Peaq to cut through the air as eciently as
possible, engineers ne-tuned dozens of areas and hundreds
of details that must work together as a single system.
The Modern Solid design language itself also contributes to
smoother airow. Its characteristic features include smooth
body side, minimal transitions between the side windows
and pillars, and ush, retractable door handles. All these
details help maintain the cleanest possible airow along
the car’s body. Aerodynamic eciency is never the result
of one solution alone, but rather the sum of many small
optimisations. These not only increase the EV’s driving
range but also contribute to quiet and comfortable driving
and ecient vehicle cooling.

in Spain works.
