An Icon Reimagined:
Slavia B as a Café Racer
Designers at Škoda Auto drew inspiration from
the brand's rich history and created a modern
version of the legendary Laurin & Klement
Slavia B motorcycle. This contemporary
rendition of the motorcycle, created in the
spirit of the Modern Solid design language,
oers a futuristic take on a classic that invites
a ride. French designer Romain Bucaille,
who works on car exteriors at Škoda Design,
opted for a futuristic interpretation of this
two-wheeled machine. The concept's vision
is fully electric, yet it maintains the typical
shape of the motorcycle frame that originally
encased the combustion engine.
This year, we are celebrating  years of Škoda
Auto's existence. On this signicant occasion, we
have prepared a series of articles that map the
fascinating journey of the car manufacturer, focusing
on the construction expansion of the Mladá
Boleslav plant. From humble beginnings in ,
when Václav Laurin and Václav Klement began
manufacturing bicycles, to the modern plant spanning
. km. The pilot episode introduced four key
milestones in construction development that reect
the dynamic growth of the car manufacturer. Join us
on this journey and discover how the plant gradually
transformed into what we know today.

Digital Factory Simplies
Car Production
The digital factory at Škoda Auto,
managed by specialists such as Michal
Menšík, Daniela Prskavcová, and
Michal Lackovič, is fundamentally
changing the way car production is
planned. This virtual model of the
actual plant allows for the simulation
and testing of all production processes,
helping to timely identify and eliminate
potential issues. The digital factory
team uses modern technologies such
as D models, simulations, and digital
tools that shorten the time needed
to bring new products to market,
increase production quality, and
optimize resource utilization.
The specialists, who act as a link
between production and IT, also
collaborate with software developers
on testing and implementing new
features. The future of the digital
factory is seen in the harmonization of
systems so that the group can more
eciently share data and collaborate on
common processes.
